Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a mixed race British-Nigerian child, was born to a family in South London. She has a father who is Nigerian and Swiss as well as her mom is English. Her family was raised on an estate in South London community estate, and at the age of 14, attended The Brit School. In London, she studied at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where her acting degree was obtained. As a student at the academy, she appeared in numerous stage productions, such as the King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her career as an actress through the film Storm Damage. In the years since, she's had guest appearances for Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film appearance was Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. The film's success led her to play Elisha in a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot, then appear in the six-episode series Trexx & Flipside as Ollie. The year 2008 saw her was offered the role in the role of Bambi in the ITV2 drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl and was featured in the three and two series. Madekwe starred in the Comedy film How to Lose Friends & Get People to Leave. Her credits in the theatre are Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe officially made her US debut with The Beautiful Life in 2009. The series aired only two episodes on The CW, and was later cancelled. The actress was selected in February 2011 as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. Following her appearance as a regular on the first two seasons, it was reported in late May 2013 that Madekwe would leave the show after her appearance on the first episode in the season's third. In the television series Salem in 2014, she portrayed Tituba from 2014 until the year 2016. Madekwe, along with her boyfriend for many years, Iddo Goldenberg, were married in June 2012. They collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He was also a part of the cast with her on Salem.
Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actress who was raised in an extended family. She was born to Patty and Roy Leggat. Her parents Roy and Patty, as well as her four brothers, Brett, Todd, and Bram and Bram, were present. Ashley's four brothers, all very athletic, played hockey in the winter and baseball during the summers, meaning that she grew up playing in arenas and baseball parks. Ashley was never a walker, she was a dancer, and at the age of just two years old, she began Baby Ballet -and she fell in love. It was then that she discovered Ashley's love for dancing. Until she graduated from High School, Ashley danced competitively in the highest divisions of ballet, tap, jazz and pointe as well as acrobatics, lyrical, musical theatre and hip-hop. Additionally, she was awarded best soloist awards at all major dance contests, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more.
