Chaka Khan

Chaka who is also known as Queen of Funk as she is also called is an American singer-songwriter. Through her more than fifty-year career, Chaka Khan has won a total 10 Grammys. Billboard Magazine has named her as the 65th most successful dance artist in history. She was born in Chicago, Illinois and introduced to jazz at a very young age by her grandmother. The first step in her professional career was playing with various bands. She later joined a band known as Rufus. She released her first album as a member of the band at twenty-year mark. In the year following, they were awarded the first Grammy. After a couple of years, she was able to make her debut as a solo artist. She released her first self-titled album. In the following years, she's released other albums including "Echoes of a Time", "The Woman I am" as well as a track titled "Funk This". Apart from her musical contribution, her charity work has garnered her a great deal of attention. Chaka Khan Foundation, which she established in order to help individuals and children with Autism and families in need. Khan was also an actress on occasion. She was Sister Carrie as the main character in the musical 'Mama, I Want To Sing'. Chaka Chaka Chaka
